Happy Birthday to me!

So yesterday was my birthday. Spent most of the day over at my in-laws place where we had a combined birthday for my niece Sarah, my sister-in-law Crystal, and myself. There was a lot of food, fun, and even a few presents. It was a good day. Also, recently we discovered that the portraits that Emily and I had had taken through a deal with our apartment complex may very well have been a scam. Between that and the fact that Emily and I have been having camera issues recently, we have no recent photos of us or the dogs. I promise we will get some pictures up as soon as we can manage. Until then, I suppose you can manage with a photo of a very young Izzie, and one of Dodger if I can find it.

Primary, Scorcher and Work. Oh my!

Well, time to update.

Emily celebrated her 21st birthday on the 23rd of September. It was a fairly low-key production since she and I both had work and we had made arrangements for other things to celebrate her birthday. We did go out to Applebees and I made her try a dessert, even though she didn't like it.

Mostly, Emily and I had a fun this past weekend. Friday night after she got off work, we went and saw up at her theatre. Stinking Pixar made me almost cry twice during the movie. Great movie. On Saturday we had a rehearsal for our ward's primary program. This was followed by a small pizza party for the primary, which was immediately followed by three of the children being baptized. After the baptisms, Emily and I rushed home and got changed so that we could go to a rock concert up in Phoenix, called "The End of Summer Scorcher". It was kind of a mutual birthday present to each other, since our b-days are only two weeks apart. There were several bands there that I enjoy, Emily had never been to a rock concert before, and the tickets were fairly cheap for how many bands were on the list. We had a really good time, even though we couldn't make it in time for a couple of the bands I had wanted to see and we left before the final band came out for their set. Sunday, was the primary program, and after church we chilled at home until it was time to head down to meet up with the family for Vance's little farewell party(Good luck in Tennesee, bro). It was fun to spend time with the family, and we had a little excitement when Izzie broke her leash and ran around Lion's Park at full speed, and our other Shiba, Dodger, decided he'd go for a sprint as well.

Monday night, Emily and I watched Ponyo, the latest movie from Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli, makers of some of my favorite anime movies. It was a cute little show, though the story was not as good as the old Miyazaki movies were. Ever since then it has pretty much been nothing but work for both Emily and I. And we still don't have those pictures we had taken. Take care.
